History of Dave Matthews
There was a musician from South Africa; his name, Dave Matthews. He wanted to record some songs he had written. What made him so unique is that instead of just playing his guitar and singing into a tape recorder, his vision was much more defined. Dave Matthews knew that without other instruments, and the artists to play them, his music would never reach its fullest potential. So, in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991 he began searching for those who would help him bring his music to life. Calling on local jazz musicians to play drums, saxophone, and bass, and bringing in a keyboardist and violinist, the Dave Matthews band was formed. Although DMB, as it’s known to fans around the world, has undergone some changes due to some of the musicians leaving the band and new ones coming in, the sound has never varied. The Dave Matthews Band’s music has always made us feel like dancing. It has a way of pulling you in and possessing you with its spellbinding rhythms; and fans don’t ever want that feeling to end.
